Asian equities faced a decline
The U.S. government outlined new restrictions on technology investments in China, while the anticipation of a key U.S. inflation reading also kept sentiment stable. Most Asian stocks traded within a stable to low range.
However, this was somewhat offset by strong performances from Japanese and Australian automakers and banks. The current focus of the market is squarely on the upcoming release of the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, with the market becoming risk-averse due to concerns about potentially stronger July data.
