FCA提醒投资者审慎对待被列入黑名单的公司的各项金融业务，并建议投资者仅与已获FCA授权的金融公司打交道。如果想知道公司是否已获得FCA授权，可以查看《金融服务登记册》。登记册中包含有受监管公司和个人“白名单”。
如果与未经授权的公司打交道，则将无法获得“金融申诉专员服务”或“金融服务补偿计划”（FSCS），在这种情况下，一旦出现问题，投资者将不大可能拿回资金。
