据彭博社报道，中国正在考虑向几家主要国有银行注资1万亿元人民币（约1423.9亿美元），以增强它们对陷入困境经济的支持能力。这一举措是北京本周推出的更广泛刺激措施的一部分，旨在振兴低迷的经济和金融市场。
预计这笔资金主要将通过发行新的特别主权债券来筹集。中国银行业监管机构国家金融监督管理委员会尚未对此做出回应。
由于经济增长放缓和房地产行业危机，世界第二大经济体的顶级银行正面临利润率下降、利润下滑和不良贷款增加的问题。在政府鼓励降低贷款利率以刺激疲软需求后，中国五大银行中有四家在第二季度公布了利润下降。
如果获得批准，此次注资将是自2008年全球金融危机以来，中国政府首次干预主要银行的资本重组。受此消息影响，中国CSI300蓝筹指数上涨0.35%，香港恒生指数上涨1.5%，人民币在岸市场上涨0.12%，至7.0241。
