Toyota Tunda Produksi Mobil Elektrik di AS

Pasardana.id - Perusahaan otomotif Jepang Toyota Motor pada Kamis (3/10/2024) mengumumkan penundaan produksi mobil elektrik di Amerika Serikat seiring melemahnya permintaan. 

Toyota sebelumnya memperkirakan produksi akan dimulai pada akhir 2025 atau awal 2026. Namun sekarang, produksi hanya diperkirakan dimulai pada 2026. 

Sebelumnya berbagai perusahaan otomotif terkemuka, seperti Volvo dan Ford, telah menurunkan jumlah produksi mobil elektrik. 

“Kami masih berfokus terhadap target produksi mobil elektrik sebanyak 1,5 juta kendaraan pada 2026,” ungkap Scott Vazin, juru bicara Toyota, seperti dikutip Reuters. 

Toyota pada awal tahun ini mengumumkan investasi US$1,3 miliar di pabrik di Kentucky sebagai bagian rencana untuk memproduksi mobil elektrik SUV.
