“王侯将相宁有种乎？”那么这句话有没事实依据呢？有的，有人误认蜂王会产三种卵，其实蜂王只会产工蜂和雄蜂，蜂王不是产出来就是蜂王，是工蜂有需要培育一只蜂王出来，就会在蜂王产下卵后，给幼虫伺喂蜂王桨，从小吃蜂王浆的幼虫，长大后就成了新的蜂王。
蜂王外出时，被鸟吃掉时，工蜂们会“急造王台”，会挑选3~5天的工蜂幼崽，投喂蜂王浆，使其成长为新一代蜂王。
那么问题来了，蜂群有几万只工蜂，失去蜂王时，原来蜜蜂是经常互相传递食物的，蜂王身体会分泌一种“蜂王质”，工蜂会经常舐取并传递这种物质。所以知道蜂王的存在。但是这种物质很快就会消失，因此，如果失去蜂王，工蜂们很快就会发现，这时工蜂们就会把普通工蜂的幼虫改造成蜂王的幼虫，喂给蜂王浆，并将工蜂幼虫房扩大，削去一部房壁。由三个房改成一个房，构成一个王台，这叫“急造王台”。
