目前市场预计欧洲央行存款机制利率将降息25个基点至3.50%。此前，欧洲央行的基准利率经过多年的加息后于今年6月大幅降息，而7月欧洲央行一致投票决定维持利率不变，但同时表示9月降息的可能性“非常大”，目前其基准利率为3.75％。
自那以后，欧元区的通胀率进一步下降。8月，欧元区整体通胀率降至三年低点2.2%，而随着欧洲通胀回落至三年来最低水平，市场预计欧洲央行本次将降息。
