香港银行股集体下跌，截至发稿，渣打集团(02888)跌4.14%，报72.9港元；汇丰控股(00005)跌3.44%，报65.9港元；恒生银行(00011)跌2%，报90.5港元；中银香港(02388)跌1.56%，报22.15港元。
消息面上，周四，美国劳工部公布的最新数据显示，当周首次申请失业救济人数飙升至24.9万人，远超预期的23.6万人，达到12个月以来最高点。利率期货市场加大美联储今年降息幅度押注至近3次。市场担心降息令银行净息差收入收窄。
